Wet lay-up

Wet lay-up (with subsequent vacuum)
To reduce the percentage of resin and air voids of the wet laid-up laminate, vacuum is applied to the component which sucks excessive resin out of the laminate into a breather which is thrown away after component cure.

This process leads to higher mechanical properties compared to simple wet lay-up. However, the additional vacuum process increases the component cost due to increase in labour time and consumable costs. This production process is suitable for components with medium mechanical property requirements. It is suitable for low to medium production volumes.
